Scholarships and Educational Grants

What the Program Offers

Our Scholarships and Educational Grants provide financial support to students with physical disabilities pursuing higher education. The program includes several distinct awards designed to meet students at different stages of their academic journey.

The Joan Wismer Educational Grant provides a four-year guaranteed award totaling $42,000 ($10,500 per year) to a student enrolled in a four-year degree program. In addition, Las Floristas Four-Year Scholarships offer multi-year support to students committed to completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree.

For students pursuing shorter-term or transitional education pathways, the Las Floristas’ One-Year Scholarship provides funding for a single academic year, helping students cover tuition and education-related expenses as they move forward.

Established in 2026, the Lisa Hansen Scholarship will award $10,000 to support a student’s educational goals, expanding access for students with demonstrated educational goals.

Why It Matters

Students with disabilities often face added financial challenges when pursuing higher education. Uncertainty around funding can disrupt academic progress and limit future opportunities. These scholarships reduce financial strain, allowing students to focus on learning, independence, and long-term success.

Education builds confidence, self-sufficiency, and pathways to meaningful employment and leadership.

Making It Possible

Scholarships are awarded through Las Floristas’ application process directly through the Las Floristas Scholarship Committee and may be considered on a rolling basis, making it possible to respond when students are ready — ensuring timely access to educational opportunity.
